The most exciting part of working in a new medium is that period of wonder and experimentation as you get to know the characteristics of the medium and how it behaves. The process of learning to work with encaustics has allowed me the freedom to explore, loosen up, and try something completely different than how I work with pastels. Crossroads was one of my first exploration in abstraction with encaustics.
